Cielo is a hillside village in Rancho Santa Fe, featuring custom luxury homes with spectacular ocean and mountain views. Cielo is built on one of the highest points in San Diego and offers a semi rural lifestyle next to modern amenities such as fine dining facilities, shopping and recreational facilities in nearby areas. Cielo means ‘Sky’ in Spanish and the community is thus named for its location on the steep hilltops of Rancho Santa Fe. The development was approved in the early 80s and continues to experience construction of luxury custom homes to the present day.
Cielo continues to be developed as a master planned community with several smaller neighborhoods such as Estancia and Upper Cielo coming up within the development. Houses are built in a variety of styles, and range in size from three to five thousand square feet. Lots are sized from one to three acres and houses come with three to five bedrooms and multiple bathrooms.
Shopping facilities can be found at Cielo Village near the gate house, the Paradise Produce Market, The Village of Rancho Santa Fe and Del Rayo Shopping Village. Most shopping centers will have a number of restaurants on site, in addition to shops, financial services, cafes, professional offices and many others. Cielo should appeal to people who love spending time outdoors, thanks to the availability of open spaces, hiking and biking trails and picnic areas. Popular places to visit include the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve and Del Dios Highlands Reserve. There are several country clubs including Club Cielo and others which offer tennis, swimming, basketball and golf. A number of equestrian centers are also close by.
Students can attend a number of public and private schools in the area, including Bernardo Elementary School and San Pasqual High School.
Cielo is a great place for anyone looking for laid back rural style living in an area with easy access to modern amenities such as shopping centers and recreational facilities. It is also close to commercial hubs such as Poway, Sorrento Valley and Del Mar.
